Descendant?

Nice, um, ship appendage.
But are Dekar and Deckard actually related, as some fans have suggested? And...are Dekar and Melphis related as well? In The Legend Returns Deckard is revealed to be the long-lost brother of the princess of Alstadt. So if Deckard is Dekar's descendant, then so is Melphis, and so is either the king or queen of Alstadt. If the theory is true, then Dekar actually started a line of royals.
There is another clue in The Legend Returns. Aside from Deckard's similarities to the original Dekar, there is an item in the game that only Deckard can wield, called the Decker Blade. Most likely the spelling is a translation error. The correct name is believed to be the Dekar Blade. The Japanese description of the weapon reads: "A sword of a wandering knight. Holds the power for 100 finishing blows." That sounds like something Dekar might have used (remember his line in Estpolis II about "100 special tricks"?). If it is indeed Dekar's sword, then that would make Deckard the only other character in the Estpolis series who can equip it, and that would definitely mean that the two are related.
At the end of Estpolis Gaiden, Dekar proposes marriage to Marin, who was in love with him since she was a child. Children usually follow a marriage, so maybe....
Really though, the only way to confirm or deny this theory is to ask the makers of The Legend Returns. Only they would have the true answer. But it's an interesting idea nonetheless, and were it true, we'd have to hand it to Dekar for creating yet another famous bloodline for the Estpolis series.
